You might not expect Indian cuisine to feature big on a list of the best restaurants in Las Vegas. Think again. For a city whose Indian population is relatively small, Vegas is surprisingly strong on eateries serving samosas, naan and tandoori chicken both on and off the Strip. Lately, some Michelin-starred favorites have even joined the mix, including London favorite Gymkhana. Here are the best Indian restaurants in Las Vegas for your next Southeast Asian fix.

What is it? A fine dining Indian restaurant in the Town Square shopping center.

Why we love it: Sometimes you find gems where you least expect them. Tamba is a prime example. What chef Anand Singh has created is already attracting notice and could receive Michelin recognition when inspectors arrive later this year. His innovative dishes, such as kimchi butter oysters and his seasonal twists on Indian classics, are showstoppers, and the fact that he uses a wok, tandoor, Josper charcoal oven, and mangal grill means many surprises await.

Time Out tip: I’m always intrigued when I see octopus on the menu and Tamba’s charred version with cauliflower purée, beetroot and chaat aioli is worth a visit alone.

What is it? Upscale Indian restaurant that has earned two Michelin stars at its London location.

Why we love it: There is a reason Londoners fell in love with Gymkhana as we did following our first bites. Of course, the live peacocks at the grand opening added more intrigue. Gymkhana specialties include mince quail kebabs and tikkas such as Goan salmon or chicken roasted over charcoal in a tandoor clay oven. But aside from favorites like tandoori masala lamb chops, the Vegas outlet has a few firsts—beef dishes like a naan filled with spiced wagyu mince and short rib stir-fried with South Indian spices and coconut. Signature cocktails include a green spicy mezcal margarita.

Time Out tip: Save room for dessert. Two standouts are the cardamom-infused rice pudding with figs and chikoo ice cream, and a Mango Rasmalai – sweet milk dumplings with mango and cardamom milk and mango foam topped with rose petals.

Address: 3730 Las Vegas Blvd S, Las Vegas, NV 89158

What is it? A family-owned Indian restaurant serving traditional Gujarati cuisine in the atmosphere of a bazaar.

Why we love it: This Silverado Ranch restaurant is full of surprises the moment you step in the door. Once inside and past the “Namaste” neon greeting, you enter a glowing lantern lounge before it's off to the main dining room. Gujarati cuisine is mostly vegetarian. A good idea is to start with the soft, fluffy khaman bread and go from there. Non-vegetarians will find tandoori chicken, lamb samosas, and shrimp masala.

Time Out tip: If the weather cooperates, they have an outdoor patio.

Address: 9890 S Maryland Pkwy, Las Vegas, NV 89183

Opening Hours: Wed–Mon 11am–2:30pm, 5–10pm

4. Mint Indian Bistro

What is it? Longtime local favorite—now with three Las Vegas locations.

Why we love it: Mint has solidified its place as a go-to for authentic Indian food. The venue’s philosophy, according to its website, is “simple, fresh, flavorful and colorful food that appeals to all five senses.” Mint has a lunch buffet with tandoor delicacies, curries, naans, and more, while the dinner menu reads like a book with everything from korma with cashew nuts to dosas (thin savory crepes), and signature dishes like the slightly sweet, yet spicy, mango paneer masala.  There’s also a lassi bar featuring several different types of the refreshing Indian fruit shake.

Time Out tip: Some like it hot and Mint’s inferno menu delivers extreme heat. A waiver is required to take the curry challenge or just to try the spicy biryani, dosa and ghost chili naan.

Addresses: 730 E Flamingo Rd, Las Vegas, NV 89119; 4246 S Durango Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89147; 10740 S Eastern Ave, Henderson, NV 89052

5. Saffron Flavors of India

What is it? A neighborhood restaurant with some Indo-Chinese flair.

Why we love it: When Saffron Flavors opened in 2010, it brought something unique to the table. In addition to tandoori wings, lamb chops and other traditional Indian cuisine, chef Tilak Raj, who runs the family-owned restaurant, introduced a handful of Hakka-style dishes using chicken, fish and shrimp that deliver Indo-Chinese flavors to the plate.

Time Out tip: Saffron Flavors has two private dining rooms to accommodate groups of up to 60 people.

Address: 4450 N Tenaya Way, Las Vegas, NV, 89129

Opening hours: Sun–Mon, Wed–Thu 11:30am–3pm, 5–9pm; Fri, Sat 11:30am–3pm, 5–10pm

6. Lazeez Grill

What is it? A Pakistani Indian halal restaurant ideal for a quick Mediterranean meal.

Why we love it: Lazeez Grill sports such a wide-ranging menu that you can even bring your most finicky friend. Not only do they serve familiar favorites such as samosas, chickpea fritters, and goat biryani, but also chicken shawarma, kabobs, falafel wraps, and even cheeseburgers and Philly cheesesteaks.

Time Out tip: In addition to offering a daily lunch buffet, Lezeez Grill serves a traditional Pakistani brunch every Sunday with dishes like cholay (curried chickpeas) and nihari stew.

Address: 8560 W Desert Inn Rd, Las Vegas, NV, 89117

Opening hours: Daily 11am–9pm

7. Mount Everest Cuisine

What is it? Traditional Indian food just off the Las Vegas Strip.

Why we love it: Whether coming for the popular lunch buffet or popping in for dinner, Mount Everest is a solid spot for biryani dishes and Tandoori specials like chicken tikka and seekh kabab. They also serve momo dumplings, stuffed with vegetables or shrimp, and a whole host of vegetarian and vegan dishes.

Time Out tip: The garlic chile naan is a popular selection here. It’s served warm with fresh garlic and plenty of spice.

Address: 3641 W Sahara Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89102

Opening hours: Daily 11am–3pm, 5–10pm

8. India Palace

What is it? A neighborhood place specializing in Northern Indian cuisine.

Why we love it: Established in 1997, India Palace serves spicy curries, fragrant tikki masala, and creamy butter chicken. Located just off the Strip, the restaurant is a popular spot for both locals and visitors looking for authentic Indian cuisine and house favorites like minced lamb skewers, herb-heavy baked eggplant, and fish tandoori—where the fish is broiled over mesquite.

Time Out tip: Planning a celebration? India Palace offers catering services for special events.

9. Taj Palace

What is it? Indian favorites with locations in Summerlin and Henderson.

Why we love it: With two locations, this longtime standout has been pairing onion-basil naan with signature dishes like its spicy fish coconut curry or lamb mango curry for years. The extensive menu (with a lunch buffet) is full of flavor-packed items, including nearly two dozen fish and shrimp dishes and plenty of vegetarian and vegan specialties.

Time Out tip: Save room for dessert. Taj Palace serves traditional sweets that include mango or pistachio kulfi and gulab jamun—honey-soaked, deep-fried dough balls sprinkled with coconut.

Addresses: 9530 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123; 7175 W Lake Mead Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89128

Opening Hours: Daily 11am–3pm, 5–10:30pm

10. Clove Indian Cuisine

What is it? A lunch buffet and dinner hotspot in a southwest neighborhood.

Why we love it: Clove is a modern, industrial space with an affordable lunch buffet, a la carte dinner options and a full bar. Dishes on the buffet line change at the whim of chefs, meaning that a visit one week will likely be different the next. The menu is stocked with familiar dishes such as samosas, chili paneer, lamb chops, and a dish called Chicken 65—chunks of boneless chicken soaked in spices, deep fried and then sauteed with green onion and ginger.

Time Out tip: Clove has a big vegetarian menu with items such as allo gobi and okra masala.

Address: 7090 S Rainbow Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89118

Opening hours: Daily 11am–3pm; 5–10pm
