In which the English act as if they've ever done anything funny in their entire lives (besides Borat). What an awful, disgusting list. I like you English, but you don't know funny, no you don't.

Spinal Tap, GOOOD, SO NOT FUNNY. I can't even watch that AWFUL, CRAPPY MOVIE. Take. It. Out. Plbbsshh!

What?!?! No "It Happened One Night," one of the only comedies to ever get the Academy Award for best picture (and it also swept the main 5 categories).

Excellent list! Some great classics on this list. Many of these children or inexperienced movie viewers don't understand the greatest in some of these cults. I know it's subjective, but I think well over half of these movies should be on everyone's top 100 comedies. People seem to find comedy is cursing and nothing else. What happened to physical comedy? The one complaint I have is that there should be more Chaplin films on the list. Overall, great list! And thanks. I haven't seen Airplane! for so many years, so I went ahead and watched it again. Brilliant comedy! Probably my favorite for just laughs.

These are the best comedies in someone else's opinion. Obviously this list is subjective because of that reason. If you feel that something should be added, why don't you create your own list of best comedies? You're doing nothing productive by complaining about somebody's personal choices.

I believe if you quote a movie and people knows the the quote from the movie it should be in consideration Friday is one the quoted movie of all time. my opinion.

I am not sure who made this list, it is definitely in need of revision. What happened to Euro Trip, Without a paddle, Good luck Chuck, and The Ugly Truth? Also most of these are down right stupid, maybe the elicit a chuckle from me just because of the sheer stupidity, but they do not belong on the list of the best comedies!

A good list indeed. BUT (and excuse me if its on there and I missed it), any top comedies list isn't worth its salt if it doesn't have "Rat Race" on there.

What?! Where is McGruber? This movie should be top ten!

i think that this list is very good, however i think there should be more modern movies on here. i love zoolander and other comical movies like that. But i think there should be more movies for different age ranges, such as teenagers and young adults. Thank you :)

Nevermind. It's on there. Great list :D.

The Castle is also one of my favorites! Such an underrated movie, so funny!

This is actually a really good list, a lot of my favorites are on here, including Hot Fuzz, The Princess Bride, and A Fish Called Wanda. It also helped give me some good movies to watch.

I don't mean to be rude, I love White Chicks but definitely not a great MOVIE. In terms of comedy, I guess it makes me laugh but it's all just cheap material and jokes. We're The Millers, really? This is by far the best list of comedy movies I have seen so far.

Where's white chicks??? The list is incomplete. It deserves number 1.

A great list of films and recommendations for me to watch later, the only thing that confused me is the fact that Step Brothers is nowhere to be seen, it's highly praised by myself and everyone i know but i cant argue against the list.

So, Robert Altman's M*A*S*H didn't even make your top 100. Useless list.

This is probably the best list of this type that I've seen. For those who can't believe the selections, it's probably worth you noting that most of these are generally regarded as the best there is. What I like about this list is there's something for everyone - Spinal Tap, The Jerk, Life of Brian, Lebowski, Withnall, Annie Hall, Airplane, Ducksoup, Rushmore... Unless you're a White Chicks fan, or alternatively not a fan of American cinema at all, you can't really dispute the quality of this list. Well done folks.

7 words: It's a mad, mad, mad, mad world. With it in the 1st 3 places, this list is for idiots.

I have NEVER commented on movie lists until now. This has to be the absolute worst list ever created. What idiots voted?

A previous commenter wrote: "I like a lot on this list but the order on this list seriously sucks." My thoughts exactly. With the exception of "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" most of the ones in the top 10 belong above 50 -- if they belong on this list at all. Spinal Tap #1? Are you freaking kidding me??!! Pretentious, bone-dry crapola. I wouldn't even rate it in the top 100 comedies. Aresnic and Old Lace at #93? That belongs in the top ten along with Dr. Strangelove and There's Something About Mary. And there are some glaring omissions.

moog

@Jay. I'm sorry my friend if you've never heard of 70% of the top 10. They are wonderfully brilliant, you should explore them. Sadly, this list is missing Tommy Boy, a Chris Farley classic.

Jay
Jay

I like a lot on this list but the order on this list seriously sucks. No Pineapple Express, No Superbad, No Tropic Thunder, Hangover is way too low, Never even heard of 7 of the top ten. Do Not let this stupid list fool you.

@Khurram R The only one of those that's even half good or funny is 21 Jump Street.
