Meat lovers, start your salivary engines. Our annual Battle of the Burger competition, in which we pit the city’s best bun-fillers against one another, is back and juicier than ever. We’ve picked our favorite 50 burgers in the city, including tried-and-true favorites like Shake Shack, the Spotted Pig and Minetta Tavern, along with newcomers including the primo patty from the NoMad Bar and veggie juggernaut Superiority Burger. Last year’s winner, Jeepney, is back to defend its title, as is 2013’s victor, Donovan’s Pub.
Now we're calling on you to vote for your favorite and help whittle the pool down to the city's 20 best, who’ll duke it out at our live burger-flipping event at South Street Seaport on August 19. Snag a ticket, and you’ll get to sample each and every finalist before casting your vote for the ultimate winner. (Not enough for you? There’ll also be live music and unlimited beer from Amstel Light.)
