Remember when Mark, Donnie and Paul rolled their free burger truck from Boston to NYC? Well, the trio is coming back for more, with plans to open seven brick-and-mortar patty shops throughout New York.

With that many outposts in the city, the Wahlburgers chain will reach Shake Shack–level cachet, but there are even more plans for burger domination. What began as a solo haunt in Hingham, Mass. has grown to franchises in Toronto, Philadelphia, Boston proper and even Las Vegas. Sure, the reality show most likely helped, but the brothers are now, strangely, set to open 20 locations in Florida as well. And there are long-term goals to take on the country with 300 restaurants nationwide.

This is quickly becoming a Wahlburg invasion and the only question on our minds right now is: Will New Yorkers actually choose a Boston burger over their beloved Shack rounds?

UPDATE: The first of the seven New York locales will be hitting Coney Island on May 1 by way of Big Apple Burgers' John Cestare, who owns franchise rights. The remaining six burger branches are slated for Manhattan, but no word yet on where exactly that will be. We're betting they'll land close to the city's tourist traps that even locals love.
