A very special, seasonal restaurant in an old greenhouse – and consistently one of our faves

Time Out says

What’s the vibe?

In Frankendael Park, way out east, is a renovated 1926 greenhouse. It’s now a posh and peaceful restaurant that inspires much fevered talk among local foodies.

Here, you can enjoy pre-dinner drinks on the park-facing patio before heading inside for lunch or dinner. Designed by Dutch design icon Piet Boon, the dining room boasts an eight-metre-high glass conservatory with spectacular views. An open kitchen and an annexe nursery connect guests to the culinary process.

What should I order?

The set menus change based on whatever wholesome goodies the chefs have harvested on the day. Prices range from €50 for a three-course lunch to €92.50 for a six-course dinner.

What’s nearby?

1. Frankendael Park: a 17th-century park with landscaped gardens

2. Landmark Huize Frankendael: the last remaining manorial estate in the area

3. Middenweg: a shopping street with artisan bakers and trendy boutiques
