Just in time for the holidays New York Times bestselling author of The Cake Mix Doctor Anne Byrn visits the Margaret Mitchell House alongside legendary Atlanta area mixologist Jerry Slater to offer samples from historic cake recipes and cocktails that will provide inspiration for holiday entertaining.

More so than other desserts, cakes are synonymous with celebration and coming together for happy times. In American Cake, Byrn takes readers on a journey through America's past to present with more than 125 authentic recipes for our best-loved and beautiful cakes and frostings.

Anne Byrn is the bestselling author of the Cake Mix Doctor and Dinner Doctor cookbook series. Formerly a food editor at The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Byrn lives with her family in Nashville.

Jerry Slater is the former owner of H Harper Station, a Reynoldstown restaurant known as much for its cocktails as its food. He is currently working on his first book, The Southern Foodways Alliance Guide to Cocktails, coauthored by Sara Camp Milam.
