Atlanta Freedom Bands Present "Heroes & Heroines"

Time Out says

Join Atlanta Freedom Bands for a concert of heroic music honoring heroic people. Our Artistic Director, Dr. Kathleen Nicole Fallin, has selected a stirring program with pieces that will move and inspire you. Each selection was composed to honor heroes and heroines in different fields. We will honor some local heroes as well during the concert, giving you a chance to meet people who make our community better each day through their work and sacrifice. The concert will take place in a new venue for AFB, the brand new Performing Arts Auditorium at the new North Atlanta High School. This 650-seat theater has great acoustics and a pleasing design sure to suit everyone in our growing audience. Parking is free in the school's parking deck, and we will have signage and volunteers to direct you to the right location. We welcome back our concert host Chris Chandler, afternoon news anchor for WSB Radio. Tickets for this legendary concert are $15 for general admission, $10 for seniors, and $5 for students. The concert program features the following selections honoring people in many fields of endeavor: "Soaring with John Williams", featuring "Superman March", "Cadillac of the Skies", and "Star Wars March" "With Visions of Tomorrow" by Brant Karrick (honoring scientists and inventors) "Legacy of Dreams" by Gary Gilroy (honoring teachers) "To Set the Darkness Echoing" by Dana Wilson (honoring civil rights heroes) "An Impulse To Soar" by Patrick J. Burns (honoring heroes with disabilities) "And Hope Led Them Home 'A Hero’s Journey'" by Patrick Roszell and Justin Williams (honoring heroes in general) "The Final Voyage" by Robert Sheldon (honoring rescuers) "One Life Beautiful" by Julie Giroux (honoring heroes in general) "Encomium for the Courageous" by Nolan Schmidt (honoring explorers) "Armed Forces Salute" (honoring military heroes)
