Cyr Wheel Workshop With Jen Mac Queen

Advertising

Time Out says

The class is first familiarized with the Cyr Wheel through basic manipulations and handling of the wheel. (These manipulations are introduced for safety and the understanding of how to sustain and perpetuate spin.) The class then learns several ways to mount the wheel (called “starts") and through those, balance, agility, core strength and range of motion are all incorporated into the use of the wheel. By the end of class, the students will have all the tools they need to practice on their own to get the “basic waltz” (the basic spin on the wheel from which most other spinning moves come), plus a general understanding of wheel manipulation and possibly know how to find center axis. If you have cyr experience you are more than welcome to take this workshop, and will be able to work on more advanced spins. We will provide 5 cyr wheels that are suitable for people ranging between 4'10 and 6'1" tall. Of course, you are welcome to bring your own! $30 for this 2 hour workshop
