You may know that Pilates is a great way to strengthen your core. But do you know that it also can help you run more efficiently, is a great way to cross train, and can help ward off injuries? Come join Dr. Kate Mihevc Edwards and Heather King-Smith to learn how to incorporate Pilates into your training program. You will learn some exercises that can jump start your Pilates practice and discover how Pilates can transform your running. Dr. Edwards is a physical therapist who specializes in treating runners and triathletes. She has completed 14 marathons and is currently training for her first Half Ironman. Having learned to teach Pilates with Heather, she also incorporates Pilates into her rehabilitation programs for runners. Heather is a Pilates teacher trainer with over 15 years of Pilates experience working in fitness and post-rehab settings. A long-time outdoor sports enthusiast and former inline speed skater, Heather has recently found her love for running and last month completed her first 15k. Together, Dr. Edwards and Heather will give you the best of both worlds in running-specific work within physical therapy and Pilates.
