Sunday Assembly: Money = Status = Happiness?

Time Out says

Phrases like “money can't buy happiness” are commonplace in popular speech, but do we really believe that as a society? We say that a person's real worth is in the depth of their character, not the size of their bankbook, but doesn't it seem that we place money and its acquisition at the peak of things we value in the United States these days? Join us this month as we examine the relationships between money, status, and happiness in American life. Psychologist Dr. Mary Gresham will share her insights with us, we'll hear readings on the subject, one of our members will tell us how she or he is doing their best, we'll enjoy some great music provided by the Joes and others, and we'll top it all off with our usual yummy pot luck dinner (please let us know in your RSVP what you're bringing to assist us in planning). Please note that we'll be taking old cell phone donations for the Partnership Against Domestic Violence this month, so dig out your old discarded mobiles and bring 'em in to be put to good use. We will be meeting at the First Existentialist Congregation in Candler Park. Our venue is wheelchair accessible, and childcare will be provided by a trained and experienced sitter in the preschool area downstairs.
