Logan Airport is going to the dogs in the best way possible. Travelers passing through Boston’s busiest hub can now look forward to a little extra comfort on their next trip thanks to BOS PAWS, a new therapy-dog program designed to make air travel just a bit more human by way of canines.
A partnership between Massport and the Alliance of Therapy Dogs, BOS PAWS pairs travelers with certified pups stationed throughout the terminals. Waffles the French bulldog, Buster the West Highland terrier and Remington the giant schnauzer are all on hand to offer snuggles, smiles and stress relief between TSA and takeoff.

The concept is delightfully simple: when the lines are long and the flights delayed, a few minutes of dog time can make a world of difference.
“At Boston Logan, we are very focused on creating a seamless and stress-free experience for travelers from the minute they walk into our terminals,” Massport CEO Rich Davey said in an official statement. “BOS PAWS will hopefully put smiles on the faces of many travelers and provide comfort to those who may feel anxious or stressed during their journey. Spend a few minutes with Waffles or Buster before your flight, you’ll love it.”
Boston travelers are famously pragmatic, but even the most stoic road warrior might find themselves stopping for a photo op or a quick scratch behind the ears. The dogs’ handlers are volunteers, their presence spontaneous but always welcome—and yes, travelers are encouraged to say hello (after asking, of course).
In a place where delays and layovers can test anyone’s patience, BOS PAWS is a small reminder that travel doesn’t have to be all chaos and caffeine. Sometimes, it’s a Frenchie in a vest that makes you exhale for the first time all day.
So next time you’re racing through Logan and your flight is inevitably delayed, keep an eye out for a friendly face on four legs. You just might find the calm you didn’t know you needed before takeoff.
