There is a new kid on the block at Encore Boston Harbor. Rare Lounge, celebrated its grand opening this week, right next to its big sister, Rare Steakhouse.

Rare Lounge is under the direction of Executive Chef Megan Vaughan, who recently joined Encore to head up Rare. "I’m excited to join the Encore Boston Harbor team," said Vaughan. "I’m thrilled to bring my passion for creating memorable dining experiences to Boston’s highest-rated Forbes steakhouse.”  Chef Vaughan has brought her own flair to the Encore team, drawing on her experience at top tier restaurants all over the country, most recently as the Executive Chef at Michael Mina’s Bourbon Steak in Seattle, Corporate Chef within the Mina Group, Executive Chef at The Beach Club in Santa Monica and Executive Sous Chef at Wolfgang Puck’s CUT in Beverly Hills.

Rare Lounge is meant to be a complement to Rare. Offering pre-dinner drinks, a fun casual food menu and plenty of delicious nightcaps, Rare Lounge is the place to go when you want a taste of Rare but in a more informal setting. Grab some friends and enjoy a drink at the beautiful bar, or perhaps snag a late night bite.

“We are thrilled to introduce an extension of our Rare Steakhouse, with the Rare Lounge,” said Jenny Holaday, Encore Boston Harbor President. “This new venue expands our culinary offerings, providing our guests with intimate and accessible food and drink options.”

When you walk into Rare Lounge, you truly feel as if you have stepped into a chic bar in Vegas, the rich tones and textures wrap around the entire space and no matter how busy the space is, guests can enjoy an intimate atmosphere with their companions.

Rare Lounge is open seven days a week with the bar opening at 4pm and the dining room opening at 5pm. And the best part is, it is located right next to Rare, so if you find yourself arriving a little early for your dinner reservation, you definitely need to swing by and check out the stunning cocktail list!
