First up is a birthday party for a white-cheeked gibbon, named Kien. He is turning 21 this year and the whole family is invited to join in on the fun. There will be cake, music by DJ Roland and well as lots of fun thanks to “Bruce Lawnsons Bubble Magic Show.” There will also be educational opportunities available including a meet and greet with Kien’s caretakers. Entry to the party is included with general admission and will take place from 9am-12pm on September 3 at Stone Zoo.

The following Saturday, Ales & Tails is also taking place at Stone Zoo. Ales & Tales is an annual adults-only evening at the zoo. Taste craft beer while learning about the wildlife that call the Zoo home, including Mexican gray wolves, snow leopards and so many more. The event will be held from 5:30-7:30pm on September 10 and participating breweries include: Bone Up Brewing Company, Castle Island Brewing, Cheeky Monkey Brewing, Cisco Brewers, Greater Good Imperials, Jack’s Abby Craft Lagers, Two Robbers Hard Seltzer, True North Ales, Athletic Brewing Co., Lord Hobo, Tröegs Independent Brewing and Wormtown Brewery. Proceeds from the event support the operation and continued growth of Stone Zoo, its education programs and conservation initiatives.

Last but not least, if you have not visited the Boston Lights: A Lantern Experience, at Franklin Park Zoo, you have the opportunity each night through September 25.

The expansive lantern display takes place throughout the zoo’s grounds each evening. Guests walk through things like a solar system, the deep sea, the rainforest and so many other interactive displays. This is a great way to not only get your steps in for the day, but also experience the zoo in a way you never have before. Boston Lights is open each night from 6-10:30pm and tickets are $27.95.
