Go full horror and see a screening of The Shining at the Coolidge Corner Theatre’s pop-up, drive-in movie theater at Medfield State Hospital. Stanley Kubrick’s classic thriller, which is based on Stephen King’s famous novel, will be projected outside on a 40-foot screen at the former insane asylum on Friday and Saturday night. The movie, which will be shown rain or shine, starts at 8pm, but you’re encouraged to show up early and walk the grounds of the old mental institution. Tickets can be purchased in advance for $65 per car—not per person—so fill the seats and drive on over.
