Jeremy Clarkson may divide opinion, but there is no debate that his show, Clarkson's Farm, has done wonders for the farming industry, not just in the United Kingdom, but worldwide.

For those who have not seen the reality show, Clarkson's Farm (aka Diddly Squat) shines a spotlight on the plight of the British farmer. Through five seasons, Clarkson and his team of Kaleb, Charlie, Gerald, and Lisa showcase what it means to farm, the seemingly endless hurdles and red tape farmers need to navigate, and the realities of how feeding a nation is not always as rewarding as it should be.

With season six currently being filmed despite a cancer scare for Clarkson, the message is clear: without farmers, nations will collapse.

So, how can we do our bit in Cape Town to support farms and the industry at large? Well, many farms have accommodation where you can stay and enjoy farm life, with your little break from the hustle and bustle of the city helping to keep operations afloat.

Here are five for you to check out (before checking in) in and around Cape Town:

Rozendal Farm - Stellenbosch

A getaway to Rozendal Farm, located on a working organic farm that produces biodynamic vinegar, offers incredible views of the Jonkershoek Valley, farm animals roaming, and a handy location just 4km from Stellenbosch.

A stay costs under R4,000 for a couple for two nights, with the on-site deli, shop, and restaurant providing all you need for a comfortable farm stay.

Riverbend Farm - Robertson

This working olive farm in Robertson is a tranquil escape for couples who are eager to get away from it all. The self-catering bungalows offer modern farm charm and comfort, with incredible views of the area.

The Olive Grove Cottage has a hot tub for those cooler nights in the farmlands, while the cottage is also pet-friendly, which is always a winner for those who simply cannot leave their fur baby at home - like Clarkson with Sansa and Arya.

Belle Vallee Farm - Wellington

This cottage on Belle Vallee farm is tucked away between the vineyards. If you are keen to see the inner workings of a wine farm in action, stay during the week. For a more chilled stay, weekends are best.

With the Berg River within rolling distance after a few glasses of wine, this cosy cottage is all you'll need for a break from the city and a journey into farm life. Wellington is a bit like Chadlington, really.

Stanford Hills Estate - Stanford

Fancy some glamping on a boutique wine farm along the Cape Whale Coast? AfriCamps at Stanford Hills is set up overlooking the Stanford Valley, a dam, and the surrounding mountain range.

A wood-fired hot tub adds an extra element of warmth to your farm experience, with views that are simply stunning. Channel your inner Clarkson by just staring at them for an inordinate amount of time.

Amandalia Farm - Robertson

While this isn't a farm in the Clarkson's Farm sense, it replicates the wildlife that you see on the show - well, kind of. Instead of foxes, deer, and badgers, here you will find springbok and wildebeest, with an added abundance of birdlife to keep you entertained.

Coot Cottage, where you will stay on Amandalia Farm, also has incredible views of the Langeberg Mountains and the farm is home to Saggy Stone Brewery - possibly the closest you'll find in taste to Clarkson's own beer, Hawkstone Lager.
