When you stumble upon something tasty...

UPDATE: Le Pickle have officially confirmed their Claremont operations following our story this morning.
Original story:
So I was casually walking around Claremont on Monday morning (as you do), when I spotted something rather interesting.
So interesting, in fact, that I had to quickly find a spot to whip out my laptop to bring you this very exciting bit of information.
Le Pickle is opening in Claremont!
Last week, Le Pickle co-owner Pieter Aucamp posted a cryptic video on the brand's socials, teasing a big move to a second location. You can watch that below:

And we've found it!
Call it divine intervention (should that be 'bovine intervention'?) or whatever you like, but it definitely made my Monday morning, being a local of the Southern Suburbs.
Le Pickle's flagship restaurant is located at De Waterkant's Cape Quarter Lifestyle Village and features on our list of the best burgers in Cape Town. However, until now, this meant travelling to town for those from this side of the mountain.
Thankfully, that's about to change.
The new location is tucked away a few metres from Cavendish Square on Corwen Street in Claremont, and I imagine it is going to be a big hit with locals.
As things stand, it looks like this Le Pickle may open as a dark kitchen initially, with Uber Eats already pushing their menu from Tuesday, 21 July.
Founded in March 2025 by four friends with a shared obsession for great burgers, this halaal-friendly spot serves up six tasty burger choices, including beef, lamb, chicken, and vegetarian.
