The theatre production of the much-loved story is heading to Canal Walk for the school holidays.

With the winter school holidays fast approaching, we can hear parents right across Cape Town let out a bit of a groan. Yes, we love our kids, but let's be honest, keeping them happy and the dreaded "I'm bored" out of their mouths during the school holidays can be tough.
Well, fear not, groaning parents. We've just been let in on a secret which will go a long way in putting a smile on your young ones' faces.
Who doesn't love the story of Peter Pan? The classic tale of Wendy, John, Michael, Captain Hook, Tinker Bell, the Lost Boys, and Peter is a timeless classic.
Author J.M. Barrie’s brilliant literary work has been turned into countless film and theatre adaptations over the years - and the latest version is coming to Canal Walk in Cape Town from 27 June to 19 July 2026.
In what will be the 24th production to take to the Centre Court stage, Peter Pan is expected to bring a sprinkle of fairy dust to the shopping mall, with kids aged two and up invited to join in on the fun.
Killian Blerk will star as Peter Pan, Rachael Saunders as Wendy Darling, and Kaira Naidoo as Tinker Bell, while Jeremy Richard will take on the dual role of Mr Darling and the terrible Captain Hook.
"Peter Pan gave us the chance to bring flight, fairy dust, and a touch of mischief to the Canal Walk stage," say co-directors Fred Abrahamse and Marcel Meyer.
"J.M. Barrie’s story has lasted more than a century because it asks a simple question: what would it mean to never grow up? We wanted Cape Town families to feel that wonder for themselves; pirates, mermaids, and all."
"This year’s production will support Reach for a Dream, a foundation that makes dreams come true for children living with cancer, with a portion of ticket and programme sales going towards the foundation’s work in Cape Town.
"Each ticket bought helps us grant another wish to a child who needs something to look forward to," explains Heidi Rowley, Head of Fundraising at Reach for a Dream Foundation Cape Town.
Time Out Tip: Please note that there is no reserved seating for the show, so it is advised that you arrive as early as you can to secure the best seats in the house.
