The iconic Tyger Valley Shopping Centre has hit a milestone birthday - and to celebrate they are giving their loyal shoppers a whole lot more with longer trading hours.
What are Tyger Valley's new trading hours?
The centre's 40th birthday celebrations will see trading hours shift to 9am to 8pm from Monday to Saturday, and from 9am to 5pm on Sundays and public holidays.
This change offers more flexibility for families, professionals, and visitors to experience all that the Cape Town mall has to offer.
More than just a shopping centre

For those unfamiliar with Tyger Valley Shopping Centre (where have you been?!), the shopping centre is located just 20 minutes from Cape Town’s CBD and around the corner from the world famous Winelands.
Since opening its doors in 1985, Tyger Valley has established itself as the leading regional shopping destination in the Northern Suburbs; picking up a number of awards over the years to back up that claim.
With a million monthly visitors and more than 220 stores and facilities, the mall has morphed into a space where locals are able to connect, unwind, and create memories (who can forget the putt putt and water ride on tubes back in the day - Ed).
Over and above the shopping options, the centre brings together a range of restaurants and coffee shops, a full banking mall, medical and dental facilities, and a 10-cinema Ster-Kinekor multiplex.
Throw into the mix live performances at the Barnyard Theatre, thrilling challenges at ESC Room, and racing at Extreme Go-Karting, and you have quite the entertainment destination.
A public library, New Life Church, and essential services such as the Department of Home Affairs and travel agencies complete the holistic offering outside of shopping and dining.
Time to shop and eat at Tyger Valley

What has set Tyger Valley apart for many years is the exclusive nature of its retail mix, with several of its stores housing features and creating experiences that are unavailable elsewhere.
Van Deijl Jewelers, rooted in horological and jewelry craftsmanship since the 1960s, houses a flagship store with a dedicated Rolex showroom and bespoke design capabilities, making it a destination in its own right.
Curve Gear, born out of South African engineering, brings a distinctive blend of rugged workwear and everyday apparel with deep local roots.
Cape Union Mart, a household name in outdoor retail, anchors its reputation with a comprehensive range of adventure gear and a commitment to sustainability through its locally manufactured K-Way brand.
Burnt, a proudly South African activewear brand, merges performance with fashion, offering stylish and functional ranges. Its store at Tyger Valley forms part of a carefully curated national retail network that offers its popular rewards programme.
FOM (Freedom of Movement) reflects South African craftsmanship through its range of leather goods, apparel, footwear, and accessories, blending style with local heritage.
In addition, Versus Socks, The FIX, Poetry, and Lira and Fynn all contribute to Tyger Valley’s reputation as a hub for distinctive style, while the recently renovated Woolworths concept store adds to the uniqueness of the centre, offering complimentary tailoring, bra fitting services, and denim personalisation, alongside a refreshed layout that elegantly integrates the Country Road, Trenery, and Witchery ranges.
For those who work up an appetite while shopping, the dining options are equally diverse, with everything from Mediterranean favourites at Doppio Zero to classic family breakfasts at Wimpy and cosy catch-ups at coffee shops throughout the mall.
Time Out Cape Town Tip: If you enjoy Turkish food, give Turkish Doner Haus a try. Their falafel wrap is really good.

The new era of Tyger Valley Shopping Centre
