A landmark anniversary: Estoril Classics celebrates its 10th edition

The Autódromo do Estoril is set to become the epicenter of motorsport once again. From 18 to 20 September, the tenth edition of the Estoril Classics festival will feature a three-day programme dedicated entirely to celebrating historic racing heritage, gathering dozens of machines that defined different eras of motorsport.

Over the past decade, the event has established itself as one of Europe’s most prestigious historic motorsport festivals, blending high-calibre track action with an accessible, fan-friendly atmosphere. The 2026 edition will once again span several decades of technical evolution.

One of the line-up’s main highlights is the return of the Classic GP, giving fans the chance to see and hear pre-1986 Formula 1 single-seaters on track, including iconic cars from constructors like McLaren, Williams, and Lotus. Alongside the single-seaters, the big news this year is the return of Endurance Racing Legends. Organized by Peter Auto, this competition brings two grids to Estoril packed with the GTs and prototypes that dominated endurance racing throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, featuring legendary models such as the Maserati MC12 GT1, Lotus Elise GT1, Chrysler Viper GTS-R, and Ferrari 430 GTC.

The racing action is complemented by a wide array of historic categories. Touring car fans can look forward to the Classic Touring Challenge, featuring 1950s and 60s models like the Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA and Lotus Cortina, while the Heritage Touring Cup gathers popular touring cars produced between 1960 and 1981, highlighting the Ford Capri and various BMW models. Classic endurance racing will be represented by Classic Endurance Racing I & II, reviving legendary cars like the Ford GT40 and Porsche 935, 908, and 910. Additionally, Saturday late afternoon brings the Sixties' Endurance race for pre-1966 GTs like the Jaguar E-Type and Ferrari 250, alongside the 2.0 Litre Cup, a grid exclusively dedicated to two-litre Porsche 911 SWBs.

The schedule also includes The Gentlemen Challenge, an exclusive grid bringing rare, high-value collectors' items out of private collections and museums and onto the track—such as the Maserati 300S or Ferrari 250 GT SWB—plus the Iberian Historic Endurance, the premier classic racing series in the Iberian Peninsula.

Beyond the track action, Estoril Classics continues to offer a family-friendly experience for enthusiasts. Organisers are maintaining free admission to the main straight grandstand throughout the entire weekend. Access to the paddock—where fans can get up close to the teams, drivers, and mechanics, as well as access food courts and entertainment areas—will be ticketed, with ticket options and prices to be announced shortly.
