The fourth edition of Cascais Júnior Chef is on its way – a cooking contest for young talents aged 12 to 15 who live or study in the Cascais area. The event runs from June 27th to July 11th at Mercado da Vila.

To enter, each contestant must fill out an online form and submit a video, up to 10 minutes long, preparing a recipe of their choice. Creativity, technique, and above all, passion, are key. Entries are open until June 14th.

The winner will receive the Maria de Lourdes Modesto Award and a paid one-month internship at Cascais Food Lab. They’ll also get a copy of Maria de Lourdes Modesto’s book Receitas de Reis e Pescadores (dedicated to Cascais’ regional cuisine) along with other prizes to be announced.

Second place wins a cooking or pastry module at Cascais Food Lab, plus the book Receitas de Reis e Pescadores and other gifts. Third place receives the same prizes and a workshop at Cascais Food Lab.

In total, 10 candidates will be selected from the online applications – all will receive a participation prize and access to exclusive training experiences. The first round of Cascais Júnior Chef takes place on June 27th, followed by a training day with guest chefs on June 28th. The semifinal is on July 3rd, with the grand final on July 11th.
