Parede Beach and Conceição Beach in Cascais were closed for swimming on Wednesday, May 22nd, by the National Maritime Authority. This decision follows analyses conducted by the Portuguese Environment Agency, which revealed microbiological levels above the reference parameters.
The red flag has been raised and notices have been posted at beach access points. The bans will remain in place until new analysis results show that it is safe to swim again, once the levels return to within the acceptable parameters.
