The electronic music festival Cascais Atlantic Sunsets is returning to Forte de Santo António da Barra, and the first artist announced for this second edition is Kaytranada. The event is scheduled for 8 and 15 August.

The choice of Kaytranada as the first headliner reinforces the ambition of the event, which in its first edition last year featured names such as Jungle, RY X, Carlita, Parallelle and MXGPU.

The Canadian DJ and producer, one of the most influential figures in contemporary electronic music, thus returns to Portugal for a unique date as part of his latest world tour, with a performance scheduled for 8 August.

Over the past decade, he has built a reputation on a sound shaped by influences ranging from hip-hop to house music, consolidating his name with albums such as 99.9%, BUBBA, which won two Grammy Awards, and the more recent TIMELESS, which featured collaborations with artists such as Childish Gambino, PinkPantheress and Anderson Paak.

In its first edition, the event — which is built around the idea of proximity and an immersive experience, with audiences and artists sharing the same space — took place at Cascais Marina and at Forte de Santo António da Barra.

Tickets for this year will be released in phases. The first, under an early bird scheme, is already available for €25 via the Shotgun platform.

Forte de Santo António da Barra (Cascais). 8–15 Aug (Sat). €25
