Every year, when late August rolls round, Cascais Bay fills up with music — and 2026 is no exception. The line-up for the ever-popular Festas do Mar has just been unveiled, and it includes big names in Portuguese-speaking music, from Matias Damásio to Os Quatro e Meia, David Fonseca and Diogo Piçarra.
The free festival kicks off on 20 August with Brazilian singer, songwriter and dancer Daniela Mercury as headliner. Before she gets Cascais dancing that Thursday, Carlão takes to the main stage.
The days that follow, always from 8pm, see Marisa Liz and Os Quatro e Meia (Friday 21 August), followed by Miguel Gameiro with Polo Norte and Diogo Piçarra (Saturday 22). On Sunday, the party continues with Fingertips first and Dillaz after.
Fado, a procession and plenty more
The following week brings four more days of music, starting with Luís Trigacheiro and the Em Casa d'Amália project on Thursday 27 August. Next up are João Pedro Pais and David Fonseca on Friday; Stewart Sukuma and Matias Damásio on Saturday; and, as tradition dictates, the Cascais Symphony Orchestra closes the festival on Sunday 30 August.
That same day, there's a procession of Nossa Senhora dos Navegantes in the afternoon, DJ Kamala at the start of the evening, and a fireworks display to close.
Across the two-week festivities, a second stage at the Cidadela de Cascais gives space to new talent and local artists, with gigs at 6pm. Food and craft stalls run daily between the Jardim Visconde da Luz and the Cidadela fort — from noon till 1am on concert days, and until 10pm on the others.
