The seafront promenade and the parks and gardens along the Linha will turn into real open-air gyms. The municipal programme Cascais Ativo is back with dozens of free activities, from fitness classes overlooking Tamariz or Carcavelos beaches to yoga sessions in Parque Marechal Carmona or on Praia da Conceição.

Dates and times have already been announced and also include personal training sessions at Fitness Park Guia de Cascais and Forte de Santo António, an obstacle run at Parque Urbano de Outeiro de Polima and guided walks in the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park. All these activities are free – and most don’t even require prior registration.

Other activities in the 2026 programme are paid: stand-up paddle classes and introductory sessions in bodyboarding, canoeing and surfing (all €10), as well as tree climbing in Pedra Amarela (€7.50), rock climbing on the cliffs near Farol da Guia and caving in the Alvide caves (€10).

The programme also includes traditional games on the promenade in front of Praia da Poça, in the urban parks of Quinta da Carreira and Outeiro de Polima, and in Marechal Carmona. In July, Cascais Fitness Sunset takes over the bay (from 19.00 to midnight); in September the European Week of Sport spreads across the municipality; and in October the summer season is wrapped up with Cascais Fitness Active for Life on Praia de Carcavelos.
