Manteigaria’s pastéis de nata (custard tarts) have already been crowned the best in Lisbon by Time Out – you’ll even find them at the Time Out Market. Now, 11 years after they started winning over locals and tourists alike, they’re about to land in Cascais. In the coming weeks, a Manteigaria – Fábrica de Pastéis de Nata will open on Avenida Valbom, next to McDonald’s and just across the street from Honest Greens.
The concept is exactly the same as in their shops in Lisbon, Porto and Braga – not to mention locations in Macau, Paris and Madrid. The pastéis de nata are baked fresh, right in front of you, and you’ll hear the bell ring whenever a new batch comes out piping hot.
The new space, the brand’s first in Cascais, will have 15 square metres for counter service only – no indoor seating – but it will feature an outdoor terrace with space for 16 people.
