American singer and songwriter Jack Johnson is the first name announced for the Ageas Cooljazz 2027 line-up, taking to the stage at the Hipódromo Manuel Possolo, in Cascais, on Thursday 15 July. With a career spanning over two decades, and in what is only his third performance in Portugal (the first since 2008, when he played at the Pavilhão Atlântico), he marks the union between his folk, pop, soul and reggae repertoire and the relaxed atmosphere of the Cascais festival.

Born in Oʻahu, Hawaii, the former professional surfer and filmmaker began composing soundtracks for his own films before releasing his acclaimed debut album Brushfire Fairytales (2001). Over the years, he consolidated a discography of global hits like On and On (2003), In Between Dreams (2005) and Sleep Through the Static (2008), up to the recent Meet the Moonlight (2022) and the documentary project SURFILMUSIC (2026).

The performance in Cascais will have a strong charitable and environmental focus, with €2 from every ticket sold going to the Johnson Ohana Foundation, an institution founded by the musician and his wife, Kim Johnson, to support environmental, artistic and musical education projects.

The 2027 edition of the festival also brings as a novelty the Camarote Experience package, which includes valet parking service and complimentary hospitality during the night of the show.

Parque Marechal Carmona, Praceta Domingos D’Avilez. Avenida da República (Cascais). 15 Jul (Thu). €50-€250
