Before you close your calendar and go on a holiday, take note: on the nights of July 5th, August 2nd and September 13th, there’s open-air cinema in Cascais. The setting? The garden of the Sheraton Hotel, tucked away in Quinta da Marinha. And the films lined up for the summer of 2025? First up, Ocean’s Eleven, followed by Grease, with Inception wrapping up the season in style.
Doors open at 8pm so you can soak up the last rays of sun beneath the pines, and the Cine Society screenings – which also run in Lisbon at the Carmo Rooftop and by the river at Doca da Marinha – begin at 9pm (except for the final date, when it all kicks off an hour earlier). Tickets cost €14.50 and include cosy blankets for those cooler nights.
There’s also a special film-friendly menu at the Glass restaurant: popcorn (€4), candy floss (€3.50), hot dogs (€4), mini steak sandwiches (€7), mini burgers (€7) and lupins (€4). Wash it all down with a glass of wine or sangria (€6) or warm up with a hot chocolate (€3).
And there’s more where that came from – Sheraton Cascais isn’t skimping on summer specials. The hotel’s much-loved Pool Brunch is back: think lazy Sunday mornings that flow straight into afternoons by the pool. It’s €75 per adult and €37.50 for children aged 4–12. On Saturdays, the Summer & Fitness experience kicks off with an outdoor pilates session, followed by a wholesome brunch and a stress-free swim with no time limit – all for €79. And if you’re planning a day out with the kids, the Family Pool package includes pool access and lunch for two adults and two children for €190 (Monday to Friday only).
