The restaurant’s chef, Gil Fernandes, has invited Nelson Tanate from the three-Michelin-starred De Librije for a four-hands dinner. It will take place on 28 April and costs €290.

It has been 25 years since Fortaleza do Guincho was awarded its Michelin star. Time has passed and the chefs have changed — from Antoine Westermann to Vincent Farges, then Miguel Rocha Vieira, and Gil Fernandes since 2022 — but the star has remained to this day.
To celebrate the occasion, the restaurant will host an exclusive dinner on 28 April with a special guest: chef Nelson Tanate from the three-starred De Librije in Zwolle, in the Netherlands. The menu, created especially for the evening and designed jointly by the Portuguese and Dutch chefs, will cost €290 per person, including wine pairing.
The connection between Gil Fernandes and Nelson Tanate goes back many years: they worked together at De Librije when the restaurant was led by the legendary Jonnie Boer. Their shared history is expected to be reflected in this one-off dinner, featuring dishes such as sea broth with wild clam fricassée, honey and seaweed; foie gras with brown shrimp and tomato; Algarve scarlet prawn Xeq Xeq; John Dory with cabbage and cozido à portuguesa broth; and banana with dulce de leche and São Jorge cheese from the Azores.
Reservations are required.
