Looking for ways to keep the little ones entertained during the school holidays? Santini is once again opening the doors of its factory in Carcavelos during the half-term break, with a programme of visits designed for children and families. The aim is to show, in a hands-on and engaging way, how the brand’s artisanal ice cream – first crafted in 1949 – comes to life, following each stage of the process from ingredient selection to production.

Throughout the visit, participants get a behind-the-scenes look at the world of Santini, discovering the raw materials used, the traditional techniques involved and the principles that guide the brand, from a commitment to quality to the preservation of know-how and heritage.

The initiative runs throughout the year, with a particular focus on the Carnival, Easter, summer and Christmas holidays, when Santini typically welcomes groups of children, families and guests. Visits take place from Monday to Thursday in the morning, from 10.30am, at the Carcavelos factory on Estrada da Torre. Tours that include a small ice cream for adults cost €8, while those with a mini cone for children are €5.

Estrada da Torre (Carcavelos). Mon–Thu 10.30am. €5–€8. Book via email: Visitas@santini.pt.
