No plans for Valentine’s Day? How about a slightly unconventional dinner? YAM, the pan-Asian restaurant at Cascais Marina, has prepared a special evening to celebrate St Valentine’s Day, with a menu designed for two. Forget the usual cheesiness: aphrodisiac flavours are promised here.

The experience begins with a sparkling wine welcome drink. This is followed by an Asian couvert, featuring spring rolls accompanied by crispy prawns, while the homemade chilli jam balances the dish with sweet, spicy and acidic notes, preparing the palate for what comes next. Among the central moments of the menu are Pacific oysters, served with mirin and soy sauce. The proposal continues with the 24 Pieces of Heaven Sushi Mix, a sharing selection that includes sashimi, nigiri, gunkan and uramaki.

For the hot course, the proposal is a yellow chicken curry, a recipe inspired by Thai cuisine, where chicken is coated in a coconut milk and aromatic spice sauce, with a slightly sweet touch. Dessert closes the meal with mango mochi, accompanied by coconut and kaffir lime foam and a sesame biscuit.

The evening will be accompanied by live music from Magone and the menu is priced at €45 per person.

Marina de Cascais, 19 (Cascais). €45
