This must be the place: David Byrne is coming back to Cooljazz

The Talking Heads frontman takes to the stage at Hipódromo Manuel Possolo for a show that blends his new album Who Is The Sky? with timeless classics like “Burning Down the House”, “This Must Be the Place (Naive Melody)” and, of course, “Psycho Killer”.

David Byrne is heading back to Cascais, ready to set both the stage – and Cooljazz – on fire. The Talking Heads founder will perform at the Hipódromo Manuel Possolo on July 14 2026, presenting his new album Who Is The Sky?, released in September 2025, while also revisiting classics from his solo career and from the legendary band’s catalogue.

This return to the seaside town, following his last visit with the American Utopia tour (2018), marks a fresh creative chapter for the artist. Byrne’s latest work is described as a record that celebrates human connection and life’s small, everyday moments. The album features collaborations with St. Vincent, Hayley Williams (Paramore), Tom Skinner (The Smile), Mauro Refosco, and New York’s Ghost Train Orchestra.

David Byrne’s concert joins the lineup of Ageas Cooljazz 2026, which has already announced Diana Krall (July 22) and Jamiroquai (July 18), among other acts.

Hipódromo Manuel Possolo. Jul 14 (Tue). 40€-65€
