Oitavos Dunes

Opened in the Quinta da Marinha in 2001, within the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park and surrounded by pine trees with the ocean in the background, Oitavos Dunes was designed by the architect Arthur Hills. With an overriding concern to ensure the course followed the contours of the land without much alteration, much attention was paid to keeping the trees and dunes as they were, resulting in a golf course that is as beautiful as it is challenging. It is part of the Oitavos Hotel, which has a number of golf packages and game programmes on offer. You can recharge your batteries at Verbasco, the golf course restaurant, which offers Portuguese and international food, and which has an excellent view of the course and of the sea.
