Open House Chicago offers behind-the-scenes events that let you explore some of the city’s coolest architectural gems—completely for free! Hosted by the Chicago Architecture Center every October, this epic festival lets curious explorers dive into historic and culturally iconic buildings—from banks and theaters to urban gardens, studios and distilleries—in 20 neighborhoods across the city. With self-guided tours and over 40 events (think talks, demos and live performances), it’s like an architectural treasure hunt. Powered by community partners and more than 2,000 volunteers, this event is not to be missed. There are no fees, tickets or reservations required. Grab your walking shoes and get ready to discover the inner-workings of some of Chicago's most amazing buildings. Head to their website for a full list of events!
