Astronomy Day says
Learn more about the Universe and celebrate National Astronomy Day at the Museum! Astronomy Day is included with general admission. Museum members get in free.

Discover more about the final frontier on this fun-filled day of cosmological exploration. Tour Ralph Mueller Observatory and take a look through its 10½-inch refracting telescope, aimed at Venus for daytime viewing. See a live show in Shafran Planetarium presented by Museum astronomers (+$5).

Kids can engage in imaginative play with an astronaut play station, create a comet craft, have fun with a planets and moons guessing game, and make a constellation viewer craft that will keep all eyes on the skies for days!

Local astronomy clubs will also be on site to join in the fun. Members of Chagrin Valley Astronomical Society and Astronomy Club of Akron will offer specially outfitted telescopes for safe solar viewing (weather permitting). The clubs will also offer an assortment of other telescopes and astronomical displays, and answer questions about amateur astronomy.

Astronomy Day is sponsored by Bank of America and Mike and Cathy Gallagher
