Creative Art Journaling says
Join us for a creative art journaling class. Creative journaling is a process of expressing yourself visually and creatively. There are no rules but we help guide you through the process. Come prepared to draw, paint, doodle, print, collage and embellish. Your journal becomes a memoir of all the things we encounter in our lives. It is as unstructured and messy as life. It is as beautiful and personal as a friend.

What is Creative Journaling?
Creative journaling is used in the fields of creative writing, artistic and creative development, art therapy and memoir recollection and writing. The concept was popularized in the 1980s in the best selling book ‘The Creative Journal: The Art of Finding Yourself’ by Lucia Cappacchione.

Is this a daily journal like I had as a kid?
The journal is your personal reference point. If you want to use it daily you can, if you want to pull it out during thoughtful times then you can use it then. There are no rules and no wrong way to keep your journal. It should always be a personal relaxing or emotive experience rather than a responsibility. You may even prefer to make standalone pieces rather than keep your journal in a book or notebook.

What do I need to buy or bring?
For this class – nothing. Do not go out and buy an expensive notebook. We will show you all the possibilities at this class that will get you started.

But if I really want to bring something?
If you would like to bring something to get your journaling started, bring along any of the following for example: a picture, cutout or photo, some text that means something to you, a passage from a book/song/poem, an interesting texture that inspires you.

$15 early bird, $18 in advance $20 cash on the day
