This is the personal and revolutionary journey of Laura Mangual commonly referred to as simply Lolo. Her art is always an emotional dedication that relates back to her experiences and she commonly channels others through them.
"My soul lives in every piece I create. I wouldn't do art if I couldn't do that. It would just be another pretty piece. My art will outlive me so I need to make each piece speak to all that relate and or own my works. The fact that I am doing this only makes me know that much more I AM on my true life's path. To share my gift is a blessing and we all have one to share. The fact I have a few to share, makes me eternally grateful that the universe not only gave this to me, but that I recognized it to do it.
I dedicate this whole body of work to my ailing mother, Carmen Pura Mangual, who was the true dot to my future now as a working professional artist. When I was 28, I was anxious about my future and very discouraged and confused. I asked her what I am going to do with my life. She then told me simply. "Become the artist you are. Paint Laura, paint." 15 years later, here I am.
