Museum of Contemporary Art Cleveland MOCA says
Drawing upon the overlap of theater, music and art in Ragnar Kjartansson’s The Visitors," MOCA presents Saul Williams: Spoken Word, in partnership with Grog Shop.

Saul Williams’s poetry has become the archetype for a new generation of poets and spoken word artists. After gaining global fame for his poetry and writings at the turn of the century, Williams has performed in over 30 countries and read in over 300 universities, with invitations that have spanned from the White House, the Sydney Opera House, Lincoln Center, The Louvre, and The Getty Center, to countless community centers and prisons across the world.

A versatile artist, Williams does much more than write. As an actor, he recently starred in the first hip-hop musical in Broadway history, Holler If Ya Hear Me — a non-biographical story using Tupac Shakur’s music and lyrics. And, as a musician, Williams has toured, performed and collaborated with dozens of artists, including: Kanye West, Janelle Monae, Nine Inch Nails, Nas, Rage Against The Machine, Mos Def, The Roots, Erykah Badu, and many more.

Experience an intimate evening of Williams’ original poetry before heading to Grog Shop for a concert featuring works from his latest album, Martyr Loser King.
