Banter Beer and Wine says
It’s spring, when a young man’s (and woman’s) fancy turns to rosé on the patio, so you will want to join the fun when the Gordon Square Arts District is the scene of the Second Annual Rose' Smackdown, as two titans of the Cleveland wine world, Banter and Toast, battle it out to find our whose rose' is best! Unlike last year where we pitted Old World vs. New World rose', both locations will carry both for a straight showdown of who knows rose' best. Guests may purchase a 12-taste punch card for $15.00 at both locations. Complete and turn in the card that evening to be entered in a drawing for fabulous prizes, including Banter and Toast gift cards. Wine will also be available for purchase by the glass and bottle. “There is no equal in the New World to the elegant, classical style of the European rosé – the beautiful pale color, the aromas of strawberry, watermelon, roses! And of course the wines from Provence are just the little black dress of pink wines,” said Jillian Davis, owner and wine geek of Toast. “Nowadays, we all know rosés are manly, and there are no rosés manlier than those of the New World. In fact, they’re kind of like the beer of wine – you could call them ‘brosés.’ And they go great with poutine” according to Matt Stipe, co-owner of Banter. Toast is located at 1365 West 65th Street and Banter can be found at 7230 Detroit Avenue.
