The Cleveland Jazz Orchestra with special guest: Nia Drummond – Northeast Ohio's premiere jazz orchestra accompanied by accomplished guest vocalist

Cleveland Jazz Orchestra and guest vocalist, Nia Drummond, will be joining us here at Music Box on Saturday, April 16th in our intimate Supper Club. This charming diva will join Cleveland Jazz Orchestra for two full sets of music, including a collection of Ella Fitzgerald and Duke Ellington favorites.

Join us for a night of memorable hits and spectacular jazz performances.

Nia Drummond

Nia Drummond, 18, is a native of Brooklyn, NY and is currently studying Voice Performance at SUNY Fredonia with Ms. Shinobu Takagi. She has appeared as a solo performer at the Apollo Theater and as a contestant on American Idol. Nia has also appeared in the New York Times. Besides her solo career, Nia has sang with acclaimed ensembles such as the GRAMMY© award-winning Brooklyn Youth Chorus, the award winning Young People’s Chorus of NYC and the NY State Summer School of Choral Studies (NYSSSA).

Nia has sung background with Sir Elton John, Bette Midler, and Billy Joel to name a few. She has also appeared in choruses under the batons of Michael Tilson Thomas, Lorin Maazel, James Levine, Marin Alsop, and Renee Clausen. Nia has additional appeared in competitions and concert series in Dominican Republic and Austria. Recently, Nia was selected as Jazz Voice Finalist by YoungArts in January 2012. She has also been named the recipient of the 2012 Gordon Parks Centennial Scholarship Award presented by the Gordon Parks Foundation.
