Advent on Pjaci

The beating heart of Split's annual Christmas cavalcade, Advent on Pjaci is set in Diocletian's Palace - a beautiful tangle of winding alleyways and yellow-stone Roman walls. The palace is furnished with cute wooden stalls, giant Christmas decorations and a canopy of twinkly fairy lights - tastefully executed, the event feels more romantic than naff.  On Pjaci, it's very much a community affair, with local musicians and choirs participating on the central bandstand and plenty of local handicrafts on sale at the Craft Fair.
