The KZN South Coast is a haven for outdoor adventurers and sports enthusiasts, and Crocworld’s new 1km trail combines both!
The popular Scottburgh attraction, set amid indigenous coastal forest, has officially reopened its 1km community trail, adding to its growing network of outdoor routes…and it's wasting no time putting it to good use.
On Saturday, 25 July, the trail will host the Ugu Cross Country Championships, with athletes of all ages invited to take part. From U8 runners taking on their first race to seasoned masters athletes, the championships promise a fun, family-friendly day out in one of the South Coast's most scenic settings.

Race through nature
Hosted by KZN Athletics, the championships will feature distances ranging from 1km to 10km for beginners, competitive runners and everyone in between.
Scottburgh Athletics Club Race Committee Chairperson Nicole Pretorius added: "We'd like to welcome any and all athletes to sign up for the Ugu Cross Country Championships. It's a fantastic opportunity to enjoy competitive running in a unique natural environment."

More than a race venue
Even if you're not planning to pin on a race number, the newly reopened trail is worth exploring.
Designed by the team from Badger's Cycling & Sports Centre, the new 1km loop complements the many existing and forms part of Crocworld's growing vision to become one of KwaZulu-Natal's top outdoor adventure destinations.
The easy route is ideal for:

- Morning jogs
- Beginner runners
- Birdwatching
- Fitness groups
- Nature lovers
According to Badger's Cycling & Sports Centre's Jason Scott: "Our goal is to encourage people to spend more time outdoors while enjoying nature. Whether you're walking, running or training, there's now a trail suitable for everyone."
