The first line-up announcement for the 2015 edition of the Glasgow Summer Sessions has been made and, if you're a fan of music from the dancey-pop end of the spectrum, it's a corker. Calvin Harris, Ellie Goulding, John Newman, Disciples and Burns are the acts confirmed for the one-dayer at Bellahouston Park on Sunday August 30, with further gigs still to be announced.

Tickets go on general sale from 9am on Friday March 6 (or, if you sign up for a sneaky presale option, from 9am on Thursday March 5) - in the meantime, here's a quick sample from each of the each of the artists lined up, so you can (re)familiarise yourself with their work.

Calvin Harris
You know him - the somewhat lanky Dumfriesshire DJ who's become a world-straddling dance icon with a slew of high profile collaborations under his belt. His most recent one of those is with Fleetwood Mac-esque pop princesses Haim, marrying their lovelorn lyricism with his fist-pumping EDM tuneage.

Ellie Goulding
Another artist we're not gonna pretend you don't know, the starry-eyed Miss Goulding is also the proud participant of more than one electronica collaboration - not least with a certain Mr Harris, with whom she created 2013's 'I Need Your Love' and 2014's 'Outside'.

John Newman
Following our blurbs for Harris and Goulding, you should know the format by now: Newman is a chart-topping solo artist with a flair for high-profile collabos, most notably with Rudimental and - surprise, surprise - Calvin Harris. You don't suppose this means the gig will feature some super-special live guest performances, do you?

Disciples
One of the few acts in the world who doesn't seem to have already made a track with Calvin Harris (though God knows there must be one in the works by now), this London electronica threepiece have lent their talents to a track by yon John Newman chap. In the spirit of celebrating continued cross-pollination, here it is:

Burns
An electronica producer with a number of high-charting tracks to his name, Burns has previously encountered Harris (and Newman) on a remix of the aforementioned 'Blame', not to mention his rework of 'Sweet Nothing' (Harris with Florence Welch), his guest spot on 'Off the Record' (with Harris and Tinchy Stryder) and his 'I'm Not Alone' remix (originally by Harris on his lonesome, for once). Oh, and he also took on production duties for Ellie Goulding's 'Midas Touch' and co-production duties (with Harris, of course) for Pitbull's 'All the Things'. We're gonna foreground the man's headline talents, though - here's 2012's 'Lies':
