The Red Bull Music Academy UK Tour calls into Glasgow this weekend, celebrating the city's clubbing culture with a series of events, lectures, radio broadcasts and what have you. Local DJ Harri (that's him pictured above, on the right) is hosting a special RBMA edition of his Subculture night (where he holds residency alongside Domenic Cappello) at the Sub Club on Saturday, featuring a guest slot from Derrick May. We asked him for his reflections on Glasgow's club scene and his own career.

Tell us about a track/artist that was an early inspiration for you to become a DJ
Double D and Steinski, 'Lessons' one and two.

What's the earliest DJing experience you can remember?
In a bar in Spain where I crossfaded George Benson's 'Breezin' to Steely Dan's 'Rikki Don't Lose That Number'.

What’s been the best thing that’s happened on the Glasgow club scene during your career?
Sub Club's soundsystem.

... and the worst?
A fire in the adjoining property to the Sub Club, meant that we had to operate from different venues for three years.

What’s the most recent track/artist you got really excited about?
My son Jasper James has a couple of tracks coming out soon on Matt Tolfrey's Leftroom label. There are also remixes by Keith (Twitch) from Optimo.

What’s the best club space in Glasgow?
Pfft... Sub Club, no contest.

How does Glasgow compare to other cities on the global club scene?
Glasgow has an amazing clubscene, with great credible nights and DJs six/seven nights a week.

How does Glasgow benefit from inclusion in the RBMA Tour?
We get free Red Bull ;-)

Subculture featuring Derrick May, Sub Club, Sat Mar 28.
