A first birthday special at La Cheetah, the premiere for a brand new Northern Soul night at the Berkeley Suite, and a visit from one of the fastest rising female DJs in clubland at The Arches – whoever said things would be miserable under another Tory government? Still early days yet, mind. Dance your election sorrows away – instructions as follows.

Highrise 1st Birthday w/ Alessandro Adriani – La Cheetah, Thu May 14
Alessandro Adriani, label head of Berlin-based cold wave/industrial/techno/electro project Mannequin Records, visits Glasgow to headline regular La Cheetah night Highrise’s first birthday celebration. Support comes from local hero Ean (Void, Magic Waves, Shoot your Shot) and the Highrise residents.

Night Owl – Berkeley Suite, Fri May 15
Look out your vest and baggiest breeks and don’t forget your talcum powder. Diversifying further still an already electric roster of regular clubnights, The Berkeley Suite gets its very own dedicated Northern Soul night, with the launch of Night Owl. All-vinyl DJing comes from veteran local soul boy Mark Robb – the man behind the original Buff Club, Buff Records, Starla Records and the Rio Café – and Ayrshireman with 20 years of DJing experience Jazzamatazz.

Hannah Wants – The Arches, Sat May 16
What Hannah Wants (pictured above) she gets, with a lot of hard work. A self-taught house and bass music DJ from Birmingham raised on a diet of garage, she made her breakthrough in Ibiza in 2010 and has since gone on to tour the world and pick up all kinds of awards and plaudits (Best Breakthrough DJ at the DJ Mag awards and Mixmag’s Best Breakthrough DJ and Star Of The Year in 2014). Wants even brushed the UK top 10 last year with her hit ‘Rhymes’ (with Chris Lorenzo). She comes to The Arches for special one-off event with support from DJ Barely Legal and Tom Shorterz.
