Brewery WEST has to decided to, err, go west with a second outlet opening on Woodlands Road.

WEST on the Corner will open in the former home of The Halt in the West End of the city tomorrow (Friday May 8).

The launch follows a pop-up bar in the same site last summer, and the building has been revamped into a 120 seater bar and restaurant with an open kitchen.

Fans of WEST’s German inspired brews will be spoiled for choice with at least ten of their beers available on draught.

Petra Wetzel, the owner of the brewery, said she hopes the new bar will be as popular as the original site on Glasgow Green.

"Woodlands Road was my home as a student at Glasgow University and I am thrilled that people in the local area (and from further afield) now have an alternative WEST in the West End," she said.

WEST opened their brewery, bar and restaurant in the East End nine years ago, and this autumn they’re planning to open a new state-of-the-art brewery which will allow them to increase brewing capacity ten-fold.
