Time Out says

One of the city’s oldest vintage clothes shops, with stock (some of it Edwardian and Victorian) to match

Housed in a curious little rickety green wooden outhouse building on Dowanside Lane, Starry Starry Night looks like a stray sneeze might knock it down. But this is a Glasgow vintage and antiques shopping institution of several decades standing. And vintage is definitely the word – stock dates all the way back to the Edwardian and even Victorian eras.

Inside it’s an Aladdin’s cave of fancy attire – all from old military red coats to top hats and tails, antique wedding veils, second-hand kilts, fake furs, extravagant cocktail dresses and gowns, pigeon holes stuffed with scarves, stockings, fascinators and pretty gloves. Just be aware that some items can smell their age even if they don’t necessarily look it.

Besides clothing Starry Starry Night also sells a variety of vintage fabrics – linen, lace, quilts and table cloths. The jewellery selection is a spectacle in itself, including brooches and pearl necklaces from across the last century, fit for costume purposes or imaginative casual wear. You’ll also find Bethsy Gray based in the same premises – a maker of new jewellery using sterling silver and semi-precious stones. She also undertakes commissions for bespoke pieces and can do repairs.
