The title of the exhibition refers to the date when Rasim Aksan was drafted into military service. Known for his figurative and hyperrealist works, Aksan focuses on the practice of counting down the days until one’s compulsory military service is over. The artist associates the tradition of “daybreak cards” with one’s longing for his homeland and his lover as well as images of eroticized female bodies.
