Hera Büyüktaşcıyan's solo exhibition, ‘Phantom Quartet,' offers a comprehensive look at the artist's artistic practice, which centers on the concepts of identity, memory, and nature. The works in the exhibition point to ruptures in urban history through the artist's personal history rooted in Kurtuluş and Tarlabaşı, the two neighborhoods where the Arter building is located. Bringing together new works created specifically for this exhibition with earlier pieces, some of which are in the Arter Collection, the exhibition explores dualities such as existence and non-existence, life and death, body and soul, erasure and reconstruction in four separate sections. Curated by Nilüfer Şaşmazer, the exhibition can be visited on the third floor of Arter.
The exhibition is on view at Arter from November 27 to August 9.
