With ‘Where You Are Understood’, Anna Laudel invites viewers to reflect on the idea of transformation through the poetic lens of blossoming. Inspired by the anonymous saying, “A person blooms where they are understood,” the exhibition revisits this ideal, offering a space where the notion of growth—emotional, personal, or even material—takes center stage. Each artwork in the exhibition traces the marks of change, hidden potential, and gradual transformation, whether in people or objects. The works explore the idea that one can blossom by discovering their inner strength, being truly seen by another, or simply finding a sense of peace and clarity. The flower, often associated with hope and beauty in everyday life, is reimagined by each participating artist using diverse materials and perspectives—turning the metaphor of “blossoming” into a richly layered visual narrative. Featuring works by Ramazan Can, Ertuğrul Güngör & Faruk Ertekin, Bilal Hakan Karakaya, Ekin Su Koç, Ardan Özmenoğlu, Özlem Yenigül, and Hanefi Yeter, the exhibition spans a wide artistic spectrum including painting, sculpture, ceramics, and digital media.
The exhibition is on view at Anna Laudel from June 1 to August 31.
