Yedikule Hisarı was ordered to be built by Fatih Sultan Mehmet as an inner fort. Thanks to its five-cornered, star-shaped walls, Yedikule once housed an astounding number of shelters and storage areas. A minaret and fountain remain from a mosque inside the fortress that collapsed in 1905.
